Welcome to NextGen3: Traveling at the Speed of Life, an education program sponsored by the nonprofit LIFE Foundation. This DVD and Web-based program is designed to help educators teach high-school students about the basics of insurance and financial planning.
The NextGen3 DVD and the NextGen3.org web site share various elements. For instance, the Educator’s Guide and Student Workbook can be found in both places. That said, for the best user experience, we recommend that educators incorporate both the DVD and web site into their teaching strategies. Here are the key advantages of each:
- NextGen3 DVD: Videos will play much better off the DVD than they will on the Web.
- NextGen3.org: The interactive games, quizzes and Artificial Intelligence
engine can only be found on the web site.

Teaching the NextGen3 Curriculum
NextGen3 is broken down into five modules:
– Introduction to Risk and Insurance
– Life Insurance
– Health Insurance
– Disability Insurance
– Financial Planning Basics
Prior to teaching a particular module, we recommend that you print the corresponding sections from the Educator’s Guide (both the Main Guide and the Web Site Addendum) as well as the Student Workbook. The amount of time you can devote to each module will dictate how you create your Lesson Plan using these resources. Here are links to access the three PDF documents just referenced:
– Educator’s Guide
– Educator’s Guide – Web Site Addendum
– Student Workbook
The web site is designed to be navigated by the students themselves with your input and guidance. It can be used in the classroom or for take-home assignments and even for independent exploration. We also encourage parents to work with their children on some of the web site elements. Please review the Parents section for additional information.
NextGen3 Educator Survey: We Need Your Feedback!
